imsniff software package provides Simple program to log Instant Messaging activity on the network, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install imsniff
imsniff is installed in your system.
Make ensure the imsniff package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep imsniff *
You will get with imsniff package name, version, architecture and description in a table
